How to play avi?

I only have Windows Media Player and can't upload another one to my work computer. I know I can upload some kind of codec to make it play .avi but I haven't been able to find one. Or is there another player I can load on to my flash drive and play it from there? TIA.

For .avi I'm not sure if it's covered by the codecpacks mentioned.
If not then you might like to try downloading a suitable player from here
