A you have posted in this thread icon "on the left" would be a nice feature to include.

Is it missing because the board software is so old?

If so, how old is the software?

The phpBB Group copyright says 2001 and unfortunatly it is as it is.
Full of limitations and lacking a lot of the features newer versions has.

Not likely. We have asked the siteowner for an upgrade since 2006. Nothing.
