gmail banned?

I tried using my gmail address and it said that it was a banned address.

Is this right?

That's the email account I used to sign up. Don't you have just as much trouble from them? After all you can damn near call yourself anything there and open several accounts too.

Just curious if this would explain why, after being away for a couple of months I came home and tried to log into Forumophilia and forgot what my password was. I tried using the password retrieval thing but I used a gmail account to sign up and it wouldn't work so I had to create a new account.

Would that be the reason?

Back in Feb 2009 the forum soft had other problems with very frequent occurances of two errors.
502/504 gateway errors.
The email ban is only when you register.
Once in you should be able to enter also a banned emaildomain in your Profile.
When you requested the new password, did you recieve a confirmation email with an activation link?
You should have. Usually that mail is to be found in the SPAM box.
The activation link is not sensing which email it comes from.

I tried everything and it was just easier to create an new profile.

I have been using gmail as well, seems like the mail is redirected to the Spam section.i got a redirect from my registered yahoo account to gmail.

But the problem is fixed now.
