Bulk Rename Utility
If you're like me and you've amassed huge collections of video and pictures, you're eventually going to run into a list of files that just look sloppy, with files being somewhat hard to find so easily. Enter Jim Willsher and his Bulk Rename Utility. The guy is dedicated to his product - he's been steadily updating it for years now. I have so much respect for him, I sent him a donation, even though the utility is free.
I can't begin to put a number on the options available in this program. Some of the basic features allow you to add prefixes and suffixes, change letter case, remove and/or replace characters, add sequential numbers and the list goes on. And it integrates very nicely into the Windows shell, allowing you to right click to access the program. Been using it steadily for what seems forever. (One of my favorites, hence all the hype LOL)
