Am I a spammer?

Hola!

Today I read that people posting galleries with their referral code are "spammers". I also got a comment that I do post much spam. Well, I am a little confused... I have posted here for some time now, not only galleries but other stuff too.... but is it so bad that I (I am only talking about myself now) post galleries WITH my referral url? Let me (again) let you know why I do it:

1. Much of my monthly income comes from my TGP's so obviously there is an economical factor here.

2. Before I posted my first gallery with my referral code I asked GS if this was ok by him. He said "Yes".

3. Building galleries takes a lot of time. FHGs are allready made so I save alot of time just posting what is allready made by others.

4. Some FHGs will NOT work if I remove the referral URL. You just get redirected to the sites entry page.

I understand that you get pissed off by the people that DO spam, but I don't consither me one of those. Maybe I am wrong. If you think of me as just a spammer that only want to make a buck of you guys, well...... then I am sorry! That was never my intention!

As you know Contractor, I have wrestled with this definition in the past. I have come to the conclusion that you are NOT a spammer, although most of the things you submit fall under one or more of the definitions we all use as spam.

The trouble is that spammers in general have ruined the Internet for most of us, so we tend to paint everyone with the same broad brush. If a pygmy Eskimo got your sister pregnant, would you hate all pygmy Eskimos?

Good Things About Contractor:
1) Usually post links to good content.
2) Is a long-time member and participates actively.
3) Has permission from GS to use referral codes in his links.
4) Never posts links to sites that employ pop-ups or other controls which may harm a computer.
5) Has a great avatar.

Bad things about Contractor:
1) Uses referrer codes, which means he uses the forum to make "some" money, if we join the site in the link.
2) Makes "some" money when most of us believe the forum is about giving and receiving freely.
3) Links mostly to Galleries and I am usually so disappointed in Galleries I seldom click through.

I believe the biggest difference between you and a true spammer is that you have proved over time that you want to be an active participant here. I would recommend that people who want to complain check the spammer's post-count first. A real spammer has less than 10 posts before we catch them and ban them.

Its the Posting Form.
When Teenophilia says "we kill all not-selfmade-gallery-postings" then we mean the "cash by click scrap" with thousands of commercial popups or sensless reposts from other Forums. Inclusive TGP Links and Posting- Count -Hashings. And u are right , its a hard Job we must do by moderating.

Your long ago posts were generally great. Then you took a vacation or whatever. Since your return, yes your posts are spam. Nothing personal. Just my opinion.
