Was asked several times how someone can use the BBCode.

Here's a short manual, feel free to ask or continue it.

If you want to add it to your signature, you can use one of the link shortener, to reduce the number of letters (4).

You can test it (use the spam section, if you need a testing area, no need to worry about posts there, will be deleted on a daily basis).

For non-adult images you can use tinypic.com, works fine.
For adult pics use one from the list (you need the direct link to the picture, not the thumbnail version):

Next question, what's hotlinking and how can I use it.

Hotlinking is for images and quite easy to use (if the image hoster allows it of course).
In code you see the BBCode.
Two examples from the hosting site list, both image hoster are allowed for hotlinking only, bigpichost.com and pics-hosting.com:

Also how do you upload directly to the forum?
Like this download or the pictures in post above it.

Maybe someone should do a how to thread for all this stuff. I looked but i could not come across it or i did not look well enough.

Also while i have you here. Is it allowed to have to identical threads? One in VIP & one in ENTERTAINMENT just with different links.

Apart from the ad's there's another good reason not to use the "viewer page" option

It exposes all the links, which someone can easily copy and post elsewhere, perhaps inappropriately, AND it provides ready access to the "Report Image" email form.

PS there's no mention of BBCode for FF users, it makes all this and more much easier. And it puts smilies exactly where you want them, rather than where phpBB wants them.

fielsk, I think you may have misunderstood me.

I was not disputing what you wrote - I was supporting you, by adding further weight to your arguments.

Perhaps I should have written "The viewer exposes all the links in a way that makes it easy for someone to copy and post elsewhere". The point I wanted to make is that, irrespective of the ads issue, the viewer makes it very easy to get at the links, and very easy to access the Report Picture email page. I did not intend to imply that there are not other ways to get at the same information.

My comments were intended to be specific to pics-hosting - I guess I should have said that too - I only use pics-hosting these days.

Ultimately you can get at everything, even FO attachments - Ctrl-U in FF, Alt-V/S in IE gives access to the HTML source.

Well, without a final decision, I think you are on the right track.
Thumbnails leading directly to a viewpage might be possible to allow, but you have to remember it's nnot something offered straight forward by the sites.
It takes you know what you are doing to edit the link.
Initial judgement, should not be allowed due to the manipulation fact needed to get the link to work in the deciered way.
