I have a Mac (OS X.4.11) and I would like to know if is anybody who can teach me how to obtain series of stills from a movie. Which software is necessary? How to use it?

The best tool I've found yet is "Screen Grabber 2.0.2". Just ask the search engine of your choice. The tool let's you set up you preferences, as in how many pictures, sizes, square, rectangle and what not. Even has a batch option for previewing multiple movies. The best thing: it is only a 350 kb download and free!

Oh, there is always the old fashioned way:

Command + Shift + 3 for full screen
Command + Shift + 4 for selection tool

IF its just the stills you want to extract - VLC will do the trick. Just click under 'video' then click on 'snapshot' while viewing your video, it will save it as a jpeg on your desk top - hope this helps -- Saluti
