I went checking some reviews for DL managers, after a very large DL got interrupted and lost, and I came across some very positive reviews of Internet Download Manager 5. I tried it, and it's the real deal. VERY helpful, and useful. If you don't know about it, you should check it out.
In particular, on large DL's, it somehow gets multiple different segments, all DL'ing at the same time, in parallel. And, it will provide "resume" capability, if the source site will let it.
Just as importantly, before I installed it, I was usually satisfied to get anything over 500 kbps, and downright happy if it went over 700 kbps. With IDM-5, I routinely get 1-1.5 MBps. Which is really pretty damn cool . . .
Anyone know anything even
better than IDM-5?
