Nay, and no I don't have a reason. Razz Actually, I do. I don't think he's the anti-christ like some right-wing nut jobs think, nor do I think he's JFK like some left-wing nut jobs think he is. He's a mediocre president so far and it's wait and see. He isn't going to live up to the hype he had when he was elected. Personally, I think John McCain is a better man and a better candidate, but I have nothing against Obama. He's just... bland and uninteresting.

That'd be a big nay. I personally can't stand the man. I'm not some right-wing nutjob, or left-wing liberal either.(If you must know, I'm a registered independent)

My reasons? I know what he's doing, in the long run won't work.(I have a Masters Degree in Political Science and an Associates Degree in Economics, I teach High School U.S Government.)

For one, no economist in their right mind would "bailout" a failing company, it simply makes zero economic sense. When a company fails, it fails for a reason and a better company will take it's place. The worst part of these "bailouts" is that companies such as GM and Chrysler still went bankrupt, even though we gave them billions.

He's already raised our national debt to nearly 11 trillion dollars(which isn't entirely his fault "Dub-ya" help there too) and out deficit has went to nearly 2 trillion.(Again "Dub-ya" helped) He's placing our future generations in a situation where they'll be buried in massive debt and deficit, **** the possibility of them facing high taxes later in life. Not to mention the possibility of hyper-inflation due to the massive amount of money in the system.

And his stimulus package? For one it's a total joke. We have to remember that the "New Deal" lengthened The Great Depression, and increased debt, **** 90% tax rates. A simple way, as history has proven to fix an economy is to lower taxes. Create a Flat Tax at around 20%, where everyone pays the same tax rate and allowing businesses the ability to hire more employees, thanks to the tax cut. This also gives Americans more money to spend, in a economy that is 80% consumer based. The more Americans spend, the better the economy. Also, the removal of any capital gains tax will allow money from investors to be used to its fullest.

The biggest complaints with tax cuts is the lowering of government tax revenue. Well, the idea of lower government tax revenue with lower taxes is a myth that just doesn't happen. When taxes are high, companies and the rich place their revenue in tax-free securities in the stock markets. This actually is why revenue falls during periods of higher taxes. When taxes are low, revenue goes up.(All of this can be confirmed with a simple google search.)

So in short, do I like him? As a man, I probably have a beer with him, even if it were to simply pick his mind. But as a President, no, I personally can't stand the guy.

And don't even get me started on The War On Terror and his Health Care plan.

Nothing I can really disagree with here so far, I didnt vote for him and it was plane to see the the direction he was going to try and take the country in during his campaign. I certainly did not understand the hype
that was behind him at the time, many seem to hold him up to be the only man that could save the country. It was made clear by Obama himself that he intended to spend spend spend and even today he cant seem to back off. Hes like one of those families that goes bankrupt by putting more and more on his credit card unable to see the consequences.

The problem with American politics is that it is so corrupt that people actually accept that as normal. Clinton was impeached in the house for doing nothing more than lying about a sexual encounter, but if you break campaign promises, accept lobbiest or special interest money for votes, go against the constitution, appoint Zcars to oversee things, go against even the idea of a republic, thats okay?

I have no doubt that the Dems will lose majority in 2010. The only problem with that is the republican party is no better and is still heavily damaged from swaying from their basic ideals as well as being as corrupt as the Dems.

We need a new party, a new goverment as indicated we must do in the Declaration of Independence if the one we have now stops working within
the laws and ideals of the constitution. And we must do it peacfully....

The last politician I really approved of was Ronald Reagan, and that's because I was 11 and he seemed nice.

Obama seems nice, too. But the mistakes his administration is making just boggle the mind...its like he wasn't paying attention during either his tenure as Senator or during the entire Presidential campaign. So I'm going to side with Mr. OhioRedneck and say yes to a beer and ballgame with the man, but I'd rather have a stronger choice for President.

Unfortunately, we're stuck in an infinite loop...Democrats, Rebublicans, Liebermans, they are all heads on the same political monster. True change won't happen until there is some real independent thought injected into the whole process. Embarassed <--- me holding my breath. (Pretend its blue.)

Am not American, Check the flag, but it seems to me from here (UK/EU) he is more popular this side of the pond! As for myself am not that much of a fan, of him or politics generally.
Far to much hype, to much talk, to much debate about it all. Action speaks louder then words, the problem with that our goverments actions have us indebted for a f@ckin generation.

All politicians
All talk shit
They will tell you they are forward thinking & Progressive
I'll tell you they have already got ahead of themselves.

I think some people forgot that Obama is a Democrat and that comes with drawbacks. Both parties have their issues, no matter who is their figurehead leader is.

I vote yay. He certainly isn't perfect, but his approach to politics is so much better than the right wing regime of Bush and his cronies that I have to support his efforts. Maybe if the Republicans ever get their act together, I'll go back to supporting their fiscally responsible ideals. But as long as the Republicans are run by the religious right, I will support Obama and his policies even if not perfect.

I loathe politics and politicians even more but, someone has to do the job. One fact remains true, there will be no leader to please everyone but, hopefully one that can please the most. Bush is out and now we have to deal with Obama. Its a little late to campaign for an alternative. As with Bush, Obama (or any president) isnt making all the decisions. He cant take a piss without 100 pages of instructions from his advisory staff. Lets hope he can make congress stop acting like a bunch of bickering idiots and get SOMETHING done to help pull us out of the shit we're in. Hopefully in the near future, one of these brainiacs that claim to have all the answers will step up and be able to aide politicians in removing their heads out of their asses far enough to see reason instead of automatic resistance to an idea that didnt come from their party. Until then, write your congressmen with opinions on how things should be done. With any luck, maybe someone will listen.

I give him an ok on the positive side for now. Eventually the appointees around him will lower that as they get farther into their business of looting and **** the public trust for the wealth of their party (just as those that have become before them have done).

I don't think any president has been handed such a huge plate of steaming fetid shit from the prior administration since the days of F. Roosevelt or Grant. It was one year ago that dollar was days (hours) away from being something that was going to be worth less than the whellbarrows that people would be carting them around in.

The always despicable congress did what they do best - throw money at the problem and instead of spending any time looking through the bailout bill to try and refine it and stop the bonus and salary abuses by the banks spent their time adding pork barrel attachments to it. Because when you get down to it they don't know how to do anything else.

I think Tim Geithner probably aged about 20 years in his first two weeks on the job trying to slow the uncontrolled bleeding, which is still pretty bad as banks continue to fail and the FDIC balance is getting pretty low.
