New Swimsuits, New World Records

Make them all swim naked, outside, in very cold water.

The men too? With the drugs they are on shriveling their genitals, they will look like women in cold water. Female swimmers are not the best looking group of female athletes. Now, if they wanted nude diving, I'd be all over that.

I am interested in this myself, as I swim. So do these new suits allow you to float, or are they just slicker so that you go faster?

They create less drag with the body, allowing you to swim faster. Think aerodynamics for race cars. If a car is drafting, there is less air resistance, so they go faster. If they are out of the draft, there is more air resistance, slowing them down. It's the same principals, only it's water instead of air. It would be like comparing a NASCAR from 2009 to one from 1975. Just because they go faster doesn't mean the driver is better.

From my point of view the new records are extremely unfair for the old record holders. Records are filed to compare the athletes and not their equipment - although I have to admit that it would be ridiculous to force Usain Bolt to wear 40 year old shoes!

I'm a little bit confused right now but nevertheless I feel kind of sorry for the old record holders.

I think it's important to remember old records and take into account how technology, supplements and other advancements have altered the times.

Condoms are designed to keep bodily fluids from merging, not make you more aerodynamic. Though, in a wind tunnel, there is less drag.
